There is this very busy intersection near the place I work that is undergoing some construction. One of the roads went from a four lane to a two lane, which is causing some confusion amongst drivers who completely lack observational skills. For some reason, some people don't seem to realize that since the road only has two lanes, then it follows that the lanes must travel in different directions; thus, there is always the occasional idiot who ends up on the wrong side of the road, blocking cars from entering the right way. This wouldn't be so puzzling if the closed lanes hadn't been dug up and now covered with grass for a good few feet. It's pretty obvious that no one's going to be travelling down those lanes.
